The South Colonie School Board will meet Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Saddlewood Elementary to finalize its new budget to go to vote next month.
Among the proposed cuts would be Bill Roemer's position as a physical education teacher. Roemer is also Colonie's varsity football coach. He founded the Junior Raiders Football program to allow all children to opportunity to get involved with the sport at a young age. Roemer is also involved with Colonie's Girls Youth Lacrosse Program.
Hundreds of parents and athletes are expected to turn out in support of the coach.
