Know Thy Enemy: Ogdensburg Free Academy Football Edition

Break it down!

On Friday night, Hoosick Falls will take on Section X champion Ogdensburg Free Academy in the regional finals of the New York State Class C football tournament.

So, what do we know about OFA? Let's examine...under the cut.

Ogdensburg Free Academy - Section X champion, 9-1
Current NYS Ranking: No. 10
How We Got Here: The Blue Devils held on, despite some late-challenges, to top Section VII champion Saranac Lake 27-19 last week. OFA isn't unfamiliar with close-call games though. The squad has secured victories on the final possession of the game five different times this season, including an overtime victory over Potsdam in the league championship game.
Who To Watch Out For: Linebacker Jordan McCormick had a great defensive showing in last week's matchup, including an essentially victory-sealing interception late in the fourth quarter. McCormick is also an offensive threat for the Blue Devils and he currently leads the team with 833 rushing yards on 96 carries this season. He also has nine touchdowns in 10 games.
As far as passing goes, the Blue Devils have two options - Josh Liebstein and Joe Dalton. Liebstein has been a little bit more prolific this season, completing 59 of 97 attempts for 738 yards and 15 touchdowns. Dalton has thrown for 419 yards and six touchdowns. Both quarterbacks have three interceptions to their name.
Fun Facts: Expect Liebstein to be the starter under center on Friday night. Last week he 9-for-17 for 103 yards and three touchdown passes. Oh, and he also had an interception. As if he hadn't done enough.
History Lesson: These two teams faced off in the 2009 quarterfinals. Hoosick Falls rolled to a 51-6 victory.
By The Numbers: The  Blue Devils have staged just one shutout all season - a 48-0 victory over Canton in the first round of the sectional tournament. While, that's a lot less than what Hoosick Falls has put together this season, OFA have given up only 209 points all season, averaging 20.9 a game. On the flip side, the team is averaging 32 points per game on offense.
Last Championship: Since 1993, Ogdensburg Free hasn't won a NYS title, or even made it to the state semi-finals for that matter. That being said, the last time OFA played in the quarterfinals, they dropped a 38-7 game to Schalmont as a Class B team in 2010.
