Watervliet to Hire New Football Coach
Pending a Board of Education approval next week, Brian Hoefer will step in as the varsity football coach for the Cannoneers in 2013.
Hoefer, who has previously coached at the JV level for 'Vliet, also played center for the Cannoneers in the late '90s and was part of the squad that took home a New York State Championship in 1996.
Hoefer takes over for Erick Beranrd, who also had his own resume on the 'Vliet gridiron. Bernard took over as varsity coach in 2007 and saw his squad finish 4-4 in Section II competition last season.
