NYSPHSAA Announces Fall Sports Championship Broadcasts

We may only be creeping towards the middle of the fall season but the New York State Public High School Athletic Association announced on Thursday the TV broadcast schedule for this year's championship games.

Just as in years past, the championships will be broadcast on the Time Warner Cable SportsChannel and get used to hearing that name because TWC and NYSPHSAA have inked a ten-year partnership to show state finals, semifinals and regionals every year. Eventually, the hope is, that TWC will broadcast all 32 championship events.

There are a few changes though this year - girls singles and doubles tennis will be broadcast on TV for the first time and for the first time since 1978 boys soccer will also be gracing our screens. In the Albany area Time Warner Sports is channel 1803.

As of right now, this is the current broadcast schedule:

Monday, November 4
Girls Tennis State Championship - singles and doubles at Tri-City Tennis Center, Latham (tape delay)

Friday & Saturday November 15 and 16
Football West Regionals - Section V vs. VI at Sahlen Stadium, Rochester (all 5 classes will be shown)

Friday & Saturday November 22 and 23
Football East Semis - Dietz Stadium, Kingston
Football West Semis - Sahlen Stadium, Rochester

Friday November 29 - Sunday December 1
Football Championships - Carrier Dome, Syracuse
